SVETLANA BEREZHNAYA

Ms. Berezhnaya is a graduate of the Gnesin Institute of Moscow and has her Masters Degree in classical organ from the Kazan Conservatory. She was an intern at the Brabant Conservatory of Holland. Her awards include placing second at the Northern Palmira Festival in 1992, 1st place at the International Organ Competition in Russia in 1996, and in 2000 she gained recognition as an Honored Artist of Russia. She is one of the 5 top organists of Russia and Europe.

Svetlana regularly performs with numerous and prestigious orchestras and choirs in Russia, including the State Philharmonic of St. Petersburg and the Chamber Choir of Moscow.  She has worked with famous conductors, vocalists, and instrumentalists in Europe and the United States including Leo Kramer, Bruce Poley, Mark Sachet, and Graf Murzha. Currently she is the General Director of the Caucas Philharmonic. Ms. Berezhnaya presents master classes on the psychology of performing as well as maintains an active performance schedule throughout Russia, the Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, France, Sweden, the United States, and Canada. In addition to performing and teaching, Svetlana has recorded eight Cds.
